Description
1.Set product standard costs, analyzing changes, ensuring standard costs are reasonable and competitive 2.Analyze, monitor and prepare commentaries on production and purchase price variances, incorporating significant events / variances into the Accounting System 3.Provide cost accounting advice to Operations and Materials Management, ensuring production variances are properly controlled and addressed 4.Prepare five years business plans for each subsidiary alone and a consolidated business plan for the group complete. 5. Planning – Ensure the development and maintenance of company standards and resources for cost services. Provide a structure that will facilitate a coordinated effort to insure the proper resources are available at all times to the project teams. Identify in a timely manner and assist in the recruitment of new cost resources as necessary. In addition, planning involves a coordinated effort with the quality management group to insure standards, policies and procedures are available for the cost group. 6. Execution - Ensure the commitments of the cost group are fulfilled. This includes the development and deployment of resources, the implementation and continual improvement of cost standards, policies and procedures, and providing the primary customer (the project teams) with excellent service resulting in a high level of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
1. Degree in Accounting and Finance or Professional Accountancy qualification 2.Professional Certified, CMA or CPA or MBA. 3.10 – 15 years post qualifying relevant experience in Cost Accounting with 2 – 3 years in a supervisory capacity 4.Experience in a manufacturing environment 5.Hands-on knowledge in Microsoft Applications, especially Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint and Microsoft Word 6.Exposure to ERP systems, especially JD Edwards is advantageous 7.Resourceful and independent individual who is able to work within tight deadlines with minimal supervision 8.Mature individual who has a high level of initiative and adopts a hands-on approach to work 9.Handles administrative chores, receives, sorts, and files monthly personnel action reports
