Description
The role exists to primarily perform cost estimating, tracking, analyses and reporting.  Job Cost Controller tracks construction costs by category and enables the owner or manager to know where the project stands as far as profit and loss, take measures to avoid soft spots and pitfalls.
  • Prepare project cost estimate of resources and other expenses through discussions with functional leaders in a timely manner using generic cost structure, which is suitable for cost tracking in the project life cycle.
  • Prepare ‘Budgeted Cost of Work Scheduled’ (or Spent Profile), discuss and agree with the functional leaders.
  • Assist Project Planner in entering the cost estimate in the project plans in Primavera or other Project Management tools, as required.
  • Liaise with Accounts Department to charge company’s overheads (indirect costs) according to company’s overhead allocation system/procedures.
  • Perform cost analysis and advise project leaders on cost over-runs in a timely manner so the corrective actions can be taken.
  • At the time of project completion, record cost information in project database (Primavera Methodology Manager or any other tool, as required) using standard cost structure and utilize this cost database for future project cost estimation.
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy filing for project cost reports and other cost related documents.
  • Connect between the Finance department and Operation department

  • Demonstrated high level of analytical skills, coordination skills and problem solving skills with creative solutions
  • An ability to appear friendly, caring and enjoy self-confidence.
  • Demonstrated professional presentation skills, when liaising with external parties including clients, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors over the phone or in person.
  • An ability to work effectively, as part of a team to ensure team and business goals are met effectively and efficiently.
  • An ability to be flexible, to adapt to changing deadlines and business demands, with an ability to grow with the business.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience
3 years of experience in GSM industry.
