The incumbent performs information gathering, research and factual and analytic reporting on key areas of the Egyptian economy, including macroeconomic and socioeconomic and conditions and trends including poverty, economic development, economic reform, finance, industry, and trade. The incumbent provides guidance to and backs up the office’s other economic policy staff. As published data is limited and questionable, it is critical that the incumbent maintain and build a strong network of contacts in order to quickly obtain reliable information necessary for comprehensive, accurate reports and in support of the section’s Economic Officers.
1. A university degree in business, economics, finance, or management, liberal arts or humanities, science or engineering, development studies, social policy, international relations, social science, politics, political economy or public policy is required. 2. Five years of progressively responsible experience in economic research and analysis, public policy, social policy, development, investment, finance, trade policy, business, economic analysis, or economic development is required. 3. Level IV (fluent) in both written and spoken Arabic and English is required. Ability to translate technical drafts (primarily laws and regulations) and interpret during official meetings is required. Very strong English writing skills are essential.
