• Identify, research, and qualify major and principal gift alumni, corporate, and individual prospects using database analysis, internal computer queries, in-house files, print and electronic resources, and external contacts. • Identifies 20-30 new prospects per year. Provide concrete recommendations to development officers on prospect strategy and priorities including cultivation and solicitation • Create and maintain soft and hard copy records for identified prospects on the in-house database (Fundal/SunGard Advance). • Provide prospect briefings for newly identified prospects (60-70 per year); update previously identified prospects and donors. • Provide prospect briefings to development officers and senior administration as requested. Assist in briefing preparations for Presidential trips as requested. • In collaboration with the New York office, manage department information resources, including identification and selection of sources of information and information vendors. • Meet with Assistant Director of Prospect Management and Research regularly to review projects and assess work in progress. • Communicate with the alumni office, deans of schools and other relevant University entities to complement and advance research and to collect and verify data. • Communicate with CAPS Director and Associate Director to advance corporate research. • Communicate as requested with identified constituencies to confirm research findings.
Bachelor Degree from AUC (preferred) or other English language institution. A minimum of three years work related experience in a higher education environment preferably conducting research, such as academic research, library work, journalism. Equivalent or similar experience in a large and/or complex business environment will also be considered. • Excellent command of both written and oral English and Arabic. • High level of computer and database literacy; skills must include ability to alternately use a variety of applications to create documents, spreadsheets, and reports (Crystal Reports, Excel, Adobe, Power Point, HTML tables etc) • Demonstrate proficiency in the methods of information acquisition and research using online sources, CD-Rom sources and print directories. Show initiative in identifying new sources of information, as they become necessary and/or available.
